Jersey minister meets committee in Guernsey
A Jersey minister has visited Guernsey to share ideas with a Guernsey States committee.
Jersey Minister for Infrastructure Andy Jehan worked with the Committee for Environment and Infrastructure to share ideas about the island's waste transport and recycling systems, officials said.
The minister's visit included meeting the Committee at La Valette bathing pools, and joint on-site visits to the Longue Houge Waste Transfer Station, and the Household Waste and Recycling Centre.
Jehan said: "As Channel Islands, we face similar challenges and can always learn from each other and seek to improve our co-operation."
Environment Committee President Lindsay de Sausmarez said: "As similar sized jurisdictions, our islands share many of the same challenges.
"Sharing knowledge with each other is one of the best ways we can learn from each other and tackle them ever more efficiently."
