Changes to cashless parking payments in Herefordshire will be introduced from Tuesday.

The council is using a new provider, JustPark, and the last day drivers can use the existing RingGo is 10 January.

There will be no change in pricing, the authority added.

Motorists have been advised to download the new app ahead of the change and urged people to only download from a proper app store, as there have been instances in the past of people falling victim to scam apps.

Councillor Barry Durkin, cabinet member for roads and regulatory services, said: "We appreciate that there will be a new app and a new experience for the public to get used to.

"This is why we are urging those who frequently use cashless parking to please download the JustPark app as soon as possible, to familiarise themselves with it, and to avoid any last-minute difficulties when the service switches over."
