A double-decker bus has been badly damaged after its top deck collided with a building at a bus station in Jersey.

No-one was hurt in the collision, which happened as the vehicle entered Liberation Station on the Esplanade in St Helier at about 06:00 GMT.

The top deck of the bus was badly crumpled with broken windows. The Esplanade was closed between Castle Street and Conway Street so workers could clear away the debris.

Liberty Bus posted on X: "Until further notice all buses coming in from the east and going out to the east will finish and start from the Esplanade."
