Man accused of driving into 13-year-old on purpose

A man has been accused of intentionally driving his car into a teenage pedestrian, police have said.

A 13-year-old boy was hit by a blue Mini Cooper at Sycamore Road, Gurnos, Merthyr Tydfil, at about 16:40 GMT on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution.

South Wales Police said a 26-year-old man, from Penydarren, was arrested on suspicion of attempt to cause gross bodily harm.
