Student's 'perfect' illustrations on show in book

An art student's illustrations that were praised for being "perfect" by judges will feature in an upcoming children's book.
Shafi Rahman, 18, who is studying for a Level 3 diploma in arts and design at the City of Wolverhampton College, won a competition organised by Moseley Writers' Group.
The task was to create illustrations for its latest book, which is about two cats called George and Cassandra, and their adventures as they leave home after their owner adopts a dog.
"It was a great experience working with the authors and using my creative skills to interpret the story in a visual way that will appeal to readers," he said.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing my work in print when the book is published later this year."
The illustrations took about 30 hours to complete, with judges saying that his work was the "perfect illustration" of the story.
Mr Rahman was also awarded a £50 gift voucher and will receive another on completion of his illustrations in the summer.
