Attempted murder arrest after County Down stabbing

Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed a number of times in Conlig, County Down earlier this week.

Police were called to a serious assault in Breezemount Close shortly after 08:00 GMT on Tuesday, and the injured man was later taken to hospital for treatment.

On Friday, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 34-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders. Both were found at an address in Bangor and remain in custody.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information on the assault to contact them.
