Teenager arrested after woman, 60, stabbed

A teenage boy has been arrested after a 60-year-old woman suffered a "serious injury" when she was stabbed in the leg.

Northamptonshire Police said it had detained a 17-year-old in connection with the incident on Foskitt Court South, Bellinge, in Northampton, just before midday.

The teenager remains in custody on suspicion of assault and officers said they believed it was an "isolated incident".

Police remain at the scene and anyone with information is asked to call 101.
