Man assaulted woman in front of children

A man has been jailed after assaulting a woman in front of her children and stealing her money.
Police said Samuel Gill shouted "I'm gonna kill you one of these days" before dragging her off a bed by her leg.
He pleaded guilty to five counts of assault, three counts of criminal damage and two counts of fraud.
At Peterborough Crown Court on Tuesday, the 32-year-old, of Redmile Walk, Peterborough, was given a prison term of 18 months and two weeks.
"Gill is a violent man," said Det Con Lauren Easton.
"He emotionally manipulated her and tried to make her feel like she was dependant on him."
Cambridgeshire Police said Gill criticised what the woman wore on multiple occasions, constantly checked her location via a phone app, and monitored her leaving the house through a video doorbell.
During one incident, officers said Gill threw the victim's laptop down the stairs, stole her bankcard and withdrew £380.
Gill would regularly spit at her - police said - and on other occasions he transferred himself £260 from her bank account, kicked her in the ribs and gave her a nose bleed by punching her.
The victim contacted police in December.
At his sentencing hearing, Gill was also handed a five-year restraining order.
