Three years after a man died in a drive-by shooting at a car wash, police have renewed their appeal for information to find those responsible for his death.

Lamar Leroy Griffiths, 21, was killed on 29 March 2022 when shots were fired at the car he was sitting in at Diamond Hand Car Wash, in Burngreave, Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police said the people responsible for Mr Griffiths's murder were "yet to be brought to justice".

Det Insp David Robertson said: "A number of extensive and comprehensive inquiries have been made into this horrific crime which tragically cut short Lamar's life in the most brutal of circumstances."

He added: "Lamar's injuries proved fatal and he died at the scene, with our investigation since leading us to believe that he was not the intended target of this attack.

"We will continue to pursue every line of inquiry we receive in relation to this case and I would urge members of the public who have relevant information to please contact us immediately."

Nasser Nashir (left) and Abdul Hakim were jailed last year

In June last year, two men were jailed after they pleaded guilty to assisting an offender in connection with the shooting.

At the time of their conviction, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said Abdul Hakim and Nasser Nashir destroyed evidence and helped two murder suspects escape justice.

Hakim was jailed for seven years and eight months at Sheffield Crown Court, with Nashir imprisoned for five years.

Det Insp Robertson said: "The investigation into Lamar's death is continuing and, following the sentencing of Hakim and Nashir, we have continued to do everything within our power to bring the people they helped before the UK courts.

"If you saw what happened and haven't yet contacted police then I implore you to do so for Lamar and his loved ones.

"We remain committed to getting Lamar's family and friends the answers and justice they deserve, and I would urge the public to help us achieve this."
