Police said they would like to speak to a man following a sexual assault

Police want to identify a man after a woman was pursued on a bicycle and sexually assaulted in a city centre.

The incident happened in Bath in the early hours of 13 October 2024.

The woman was approached by an unknown man on a bike after she got off a bus from Bristol.

He tried to strike up a conversation with her as she walked along Southgate and then across Churchill Bridge before arriving on Union Terrace where the suspect sexually assaulted her before making off at about 01:20 GMT.

Avon & Somerset Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the attack.

The man is believed to be in his 20s and is white and slim with short, brown hair. He is shown wearing a dark tracksuit and riding a bike.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the man to contact them.

They said the victim has been supported through specialist sexual assault services.
