Drink-drive arrest after bungled supermarket exit

A man has been charged with drink-driving and drug possession after a car got stuck while trying to leave a supermarket.
Officers said the driver of a red Audi had attempted to leave a Sainsbury's car park in Ripley, Derbyshire, via a footpath before driving along a grass verge and finding himself stranded in the early hours of Saturday.
A 39-year-old man was arrested at the scene, where he provided a positive breath test over double the legal alcohol limit and was found with a small quantity of Class B drugs, the force said.
"Drink-driving can have a devastating consequence on our wider community," a Derbyshire Police spokesperson added.
"Enforcement activities are so important to help act as a deterrent as well as making sure that the people using our roads are fit to do so."
