Plans have been submitted for a new youth and community centre on the old Ann Street Brewery site in the north of St Helier.

The first section is set to open in December 2026 and the entire project completed by June 2028, according to the Government of Jersey.

The centre would feature modern facilities, such as a sports hall, climbing wall, fitness rooms, dance studio, boxing gym, sensory room, food preparation facilities, multi-functional rooms, and eight counselling rooms, project leaders said.

It would also serve as the main hub for the Youth Enquiry Service, they added.

"The development of these facilities will have a significantly positive impact on our children, young people, and their families," said Assistant Minister for Children and Families Deputy Malcolm Ferey.

"We are listening to our young people who have told us that more places to play, free clubs and activities, and activities for older children are very important to them."

Mark Capern, Associate Director for Young People's Services, added: "The town youth and community centre will provide children and young people much-needed access to engage in positive activities and be part of their community."
