Planned skate park set to be relocated

A skate park planned for St Helier is set to be relocated after two or three years.
Minister for Infrastructure Constable Andy Jehan told the Environment, Housing and Infrastructure Panel the park planned for South Hill would be moved into Fort Regent once the facility had been redeveloped.
He said once the skate park had been moved into Fort Regent the vacated space would be used for cycling proficiency.
"The idea is we'd put it [the skate park] at South Hill for a short period of time until the fort is ready and then utilise that space for cycling," he said.
"If we're spending money on groundworks, we don't want to waste it," he added.
Jersey also has a skatepark at Les Quennevais Sports Centre which opened in 2023, with hundreds of Islanders attending the launch.
