A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision involving two motorbikes.

The 52-year-old man was taken to hospital after the incident in Fryston Road, Castleford, at about 16:45 GMT on Thursday.

West Yorkshire Police said the riders of the two motorbikes - one black with green wheels, thought to be a Yamaha MT, and the other described as a Twist and Go - failed to stop at the scene.

The force has appealed for witnesses to come forward, including the driver of a red car which the bikes had overtaken shortly before the collision.
