Flood alerts remain despite falling river levels
Adrian Harms/BBCSeveral flood alerts remain in force across Surrey despite falling water levels in some rivers.
On Tuesday, flooding had been reported in Tilford where the River Wey burst its banks.
However, overnight the flood warnings for the river at Elstead and Eashing were lifted, with levels slowly falling.
The levels in the River Blackwater and Cove Brook near Camberley are also beginning to drop, although a flood alert is still in force.
As of Wednesday afternoon, flood alerts remain in place for parts of the River Thames, River Wey, Windle Brook, and Chertsey Bourne.
The areas being warned over possible flooding include Camberley, Addlestone, Bagshot, Old Woking, Byfleet, Weybridge, Egham, Chertsey, Staines, Shepperton, East and West Molesey, and Sunbury.
Access to Millmead in Guildford is still closed, but river levels have fallen considerably since Tuesday, and the road is no longer flooded, according to BBC Radio Surrey.
The active flood alerts coincide with a yellow weather warning for snow for most of the south-east of England, which ends at midnight.
