Police seize golf ball-sized crack cocaine bundle
A man has been arrested after a golf ball-sized bundle of crack cocaine was seized by police.
The Class A drug was found after officers followed a suspected banned driver with links to drug supply in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, at 15:15 GMT on Tuesday.
After finding the car he was driving abandoned, they went to the suspect's home and detained three suspects as they left - one who had the crack cocaine, police said.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, a public order offence, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
Three more people – a 34-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man – were all arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.
Sgt Jonny Groves, from Nottinghamshire Police's priority tasking team, said: "By being out in the community conducting our patrols, we were able to spot someone we believed could be up to no good and investigated this hunch further.
"To the credit of the officers involved, those suspicions proved themselves to be correct, as we uncovered Class A and Class B drugs, while detaining four suspects in the process."
