Man arrested after climbing on to hotel roof

A man has been arrested after climbing on to a hotel roof and causing the closure of two major roads in Hull city centre.
Humberside Police said officers were called to the Gilson Hotel, Anlaby Road, at 05:00 BST.
The 48-year-old man remained on the roof until 10:35 before he was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and taken into custody, the force said.
Parts of Ferensway and Anlaby Road were cordoned off but have since reopened.

In a statement, the force said the man had allegedly attempted to force his way into another room.
The BBC saw at least seven police vehicles at the scene as well as two fire engines and a fast-response paramedic vehicle.
Police confirmed the cordon was lifted shortly after the man was arrested.
