Three men have been arrested after the death of a man in Exmouth

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in a garden in Devon.

Officers were called at about 00:45 BST on Saturday after they received reports a man in his 20s had been assaulted and found in a garden of a property at Ashfield Close, Exmouth. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police said two men in their 20s were found at an address at Hawthorn Grove, Exmouth, and were arrested on suspicion of murder.

On Saturday afternoon, police said a third man, also in his 20s, had been arrested in Exeter on suspicion of murder. All three suspects remain in custody.

DI Rob Smith, from the Major Crime Investigation Team, thanked the public for their support during the initial investigation.

He added cordons would likely remain in place for "some time".

Two police cars block the road. One is positioned on the grass bank while another is parked in the road. Police tape marks the start of the cordon and three men are seen in a group further down the path in the cordon.
Police said a cordon was likely to remain in place for "some time".

"If anybody living in the area has any concerns, please speak to our officers at the cordon," Mr Smith added.

"There will continue to be a heightened police presence in the area as we work to deliver justice for the victim's family."
