Banking hub opens as town's last bank set to shut

A banking hub has opened ahead of the closure of a town's last remaining bank branch.
The hub in Sherborne has opened up in the former Natwest branch at 50 Cheap Street ahead of the permanent closure of Lloyds on 75 Cheap Street on 7 July.
The banks at the hub work on a rotating basis, with five different banks available each day through the week.
The banking hub, owned by not-for-profit company Cash Access UK and operated by the Post Office, is open from 09:00 to 17:00 on weekdays. It also has an external cash machine.
The hub can be used to pay in and withdraw cash/cheques on any week day, but customers can only book appointments with the respective bank consultants on their allocated day.
Sherborne Community Banker Schedule:

Cash Access UK is funded by major high street banks to provide cash and basic banking services in communities across the UK.
It currently has 150 banking hubs open.
Among the more unusual locations for banking hubs are a former sardine factory and a converted public toilet.
