Two men have denied murdering a man who was stabbed in Canterbury city centre.

Samare Gerezgihir was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services who found him with injuries consistent with a stab wound in High Street just before midnight on 10 October.

Kemal Ibrahim, 24, from Canterbury, and Mohammed Hgar, 31, of no fixed address, were charged with Mr Gerezgihir's murder and with possession of a bladed article in a public place.

They pleaded not guilty to both charges at Canterbury Crown Court on Friday.

Mr Ibrahim also pleaded not guilty to occasioning actual bodily harm of another man between 10 and 11 October last year.

Both men were remanded into custody ahead of a trial set for 31 March.
