Two men have been seriously injured during violent disorder in Halifax.
Police said officers were called to reports of fighting, involving weapons and vehicles, on Mile Cross Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Six men have been arrested in connection with the incident, West Yorkshire Police said.
The injured men both remain in hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Det Insp Rob Stevens said police were working to establish exactly what happened on Wednesday.
He said this kind of disturbance was "bound to cause concern" and the force had increased patrols to provide reassurance.
"I would urge anyone who may have information about the disorder to come forward and provide us with that information," he said.
