School closed after parts of ceiling fell down

A school has been forced to close early for the Easter holidays after sections of the ceiling fell down.
Billingham South Primary School, in Stockton, has closed until further notice due to structural concerns.
Stockton Borough Council advised the school to shut while it carried out inspections.
Head teacher Edwin Squire said: "Having to close is naturally very disappointing and frustrating, but the safety of children and staff must come first."
He apologised to parents and carers and advised people to check with the school online for more information.
It is understood that several small sections of ceiling became detached and fell on to the floor, prompting initial investigations.
Labour's Clare Besford, the council's lead for children and young people, said: "Following a structural inspection... concerns have come to light about sections of the building.
"To ensure the safety of pupils and staff a decision was made to close school early ahead of the Easter break.
"The council will be working closely with the school to carry out further inspections and look for a solution."
