Appeal after woman sexually assaulted in town

An investigation has been launched after a report of sexual assault in Cornwall, police have said.

The incident is reported to have happened between 00:44 and 01:35 GMT on Sunday, in the Barripper Road and Boundervean Lane area of Camborne.

Devon and Cornwall Police said reports indicated a man had sexually assaulted a woman before fleeing the scene.

Officers attended the area and a police cordon, which has now been lifted, was put in place at the scene while officers carried out further inquiries.

Dashcam footage wanted

The victim has been supported by specially trained officers, police said.

Detective Insp Claire Nicholls said: "We understand an incident such as this has caused some concern amongst the local community.

"We are doing all we can to track down the suspect and will provide updates as we have them."

Police have urged anyone with dashcam footage from Barripper Road, Boundervean Lane and Pendarves Road at the time of the incident, to get in contact.
