Man charged with stalking Strictly judge Ballas

A man has been charged with stalking Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas for more than six years.

Kyle Shaw appeared at South Sefton Magistrates' Court on 3 January, a spokesman for the courts service confirmed.

The 37-year-old, of Birkenhead, Merseyside, is charged with stalking Ms Ballas by sending her online messages between 31 August 2017 and 29 November 2023.

Mr Shaw is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 31 January.

He has also been charged with possession of a quantity of cannabis.

Ms Ballas, originally from Wallasey, Wirral, has been head judge on the BBC show since 2017.
