Murder arrest over death of woman at flat

Police have begun a murder investigation after a woman died

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman at a flat.

The woman, in her 40s, died at an address in London Road South, Lowestoft.

Suffolk Police were called by the ambulance service just after 07:10 GMT.

A 49-year-old man, from Lowestoft, is being questioned on suspicion of murder.

Police said the suspect was arrested at about 13:15 and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.

A police spokesman added: "Detectives are treating this as an isolated incident and the deceased and suspect were known to each other."
