Two drug arrests after death of man, 18
Police investigating the death of an 18-year-old man have arrested two men on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.
Emergency services were called to Keppel Street in Plymouth at 09:30 GMT on Saturday, and the man was confirmed dead at the scene, said the Devon and Cornwall force.
Officers said they were treating his death as unexplained. His next of kin had been informed.
The two men, aged 20 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drugs and remain in police custody, said officers.
A second man was taken to hospital as a precaution but has been discharged.
Det Sgt Ed Carr, of the force, said its inquiries were in the "very early stages", adding his thoughts were with the young man's family and friends.
"At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and we are investigating to understand the full circumstances," he said.
"I would urge everyone to bear in mind the risks of taking any unknown substance – you do not know what dangers they pose and what reaction you could have," he said.
"It isn't worth the risk."
He urged anyone with information to get in touch and not to speculate about the incident on social media.
