Overnight closures will be in place on the M62 for more than a month while surface repair work is carried out.

National Highways said the concrete bay replacement and resurfacing would take place from Monday night near junction 38 of the M62 in North Cave, East Yorkshire.

Drivers have been advised to follow any signposted diversions while the work is carried out.

A statement on National Highways' website said the work would "extend the life of the concrete surface and keep it safe and serviceable for the travelling public".

The closures will affect the eastbound carriageway until 12 March between junction 37 in Howden and the A63 South Cave.

Then work will be moved to the westbound carriageway between 6 March and 1 April.

National Highways added they "appreciated this is being carried out at the same time as the current A63 South Cave to North Ferriby works".
