Arrest after man, 70, seriously hurt in crash

A man has been arrested after a crash which left another man with "life-changing" injuries, police have said.

A mobility scooter and a black Ford Focus were involved in a collision on Norton Avenue, Sheffield, at about 16:25 GMT on Sunday, according to South Yorkshire Police.

A 70-year-old man was seriously injured in the crash and a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and drug-driving, a force spokesperson said.

Police appealed for anyone who saw what happened, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the scene at around the time of the collision, to get in touch.
