A woman from Jersey who promotes second-hand clothes on social media has returned to the island to open a charity shop.

Jennifer Graham, known as Charity Shop Girl, opened Jersey Hospice Care's new shop at Holme Grown in Grouville.

Ms Graham, who now lives in UK, said the island was a "a place that's very close to my heart".

The charity said Hospice Shop East was a "unique space" that would change the perception of what a charity shop looks like.

'Fond memories'

Ms Graham, who has more than 100,000 followers on Instagram, said she had "fond memories" of Jersey.

"I used to live on the island and my son was born there," she said.

"I've been following hospice's journey in charity retail for a few years now having visited their shop in St Ouen in 2023.

"The addition of this new shop is very exciting."

'Incredibly proud'

Jersey Hospice Care head of retail Marcus Meadows said much of the shop's interior was made from recycled materials.

"It's been many months in the making and I'm incredibly proud and excited to be opening to the public," he said.

The charity promised the shop would be a "game-changer" for the island's charity shopping scene, offering a "stylish and sustainable" experience.

It is Jersey Hospice Care's third charity shop in the island.
