Four in court after police drugs raids
Four men have appeared in court in connection with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs after a series of police raids in Dewsbury.
Officers searched 10 homes and made eight arrests in a two-day operation targeting organised crime in the town on Wednesday and Thursday.
They recovered an estimated £30,000 worth of suspected Class A drugs in the operation, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
Ahmed Hanif, 25, Ismaeel Shafiq, 23, Istaker Salim, 39, and Ahsan Aslam, 33, were all remanded in custody when they appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
None of the suspects entered pleas during the brief hearing.
They are due to appear at Leeds Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 6 February.
Mr Hanif, of Park Parade, Dewsbury, has been charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Mr Shafiq, also of Park Parade, Dewsbury, has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to Supply Class A drugs and two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Mr Salim, of Speakers Court, Dewsbury, charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Mr Aslam, of Ravenshouse Road, Dewsbury, has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to Supply Class A drugs and two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.
Det Sgt Seb Morgan from West Yorkshire Police said officers "remain determined to combat drugs supply and organised criminality in Kirklees".
