The A38 in Devon has reopened after an overturned van resulted in a carriageway closure.

National Highways said the westbound carriageway was shut between the A382 at Drumbridges, near Newton Abbot, and the A383 at Goodstone, after the incident at about 06:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it rescued one man from the vehicle.

Devon and Cornwall Police said he was taken to hospital and he was not "seriously injured".

In an update on X, National Highways said the carriageway had reopened and recovery work had been completed.
