Man in his 60s dies after fatal assault in Dublin

A man in his 60s has died after a fatal assault in Malahide, County Dublin, Gardaí (Irish police) have said.

It happened at Gainsborough Lawn at about 08:30 local time.

Police said the victim was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

They have arrested a man in his late 20s who is currently in custody in a Dublin garda station.

The scene has been cordoned off and a post-mortem examination will be arranged to determine the cause of the man's death.

An incident room has been established at Malahide Garda Station and a family liaison officer has been assigned to support the dead man's family.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who was at Gainsborough Lawn, or has footage of the area between 08:00 and 08:45 local time, to contact them.
