Large mural brightens communal area in Jersey

A large mural planned to brighten up a communal area is set to be unveiled in Jersey on Monday.
The mural, organised by Art in the Frame Foundation, has been funded by the Ports of Jersey and was painted by artist Vince Talcone along with a group of school children.
The Ports of Jersey said the artwork named The Sky, The Sea, The Harbourside is located at the entrance to Jersey's Harbour Gallery.
Sophie Alexander, the head of sustainability and community value, said it was special each young person contributed to the artwork, creating something "beautiful".
"Hopefully they will feel proud showing their masterpiece to their families and friends on Monday," she said.
"We are delighted to have supported the mural through our Community Boost initiative."
It said the money contributed through the initiative went towards the wood panels and paint for the mural.
Pat Robson, managing director of Art in the Frame, thanked the Ports of Jersey for sponsoring the wall as the charity celebrated its second birthday.
He said to mark the occasion, an exhibition called All at Sea was being unveiled on Thursday.
"It features the art and craft work of more than 20 local artists, some of whom are our regulars, while others are new to the gallery," added Mr Robson.
