Thousands are at Aintree Racecourse for one of the biggest days in Liverpool's event calendar

Thousands of racegoers are enjoying a day at Aintree racecourse for its annual Ladies Day which is part of the Grand National Festival.

Ladies Day is traditionally one of the biggest days in Liverpool's social calendar when women - and men - are invited to dress to impress.

More than150,000 people are expected to attend the race meeting, with the festival finishing on Saturday.

Previous style award winner Faith Amond has been spotted among the crowds, the 72-year-old first took home the title in 2017.
