Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a high-tech industrial site between Rotherham and Sheffield.

Six fire engines and an aerial ladder attended Europa Avenue at Sheffield Business Park in Tinsley, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (SYFR) said.

Two staff working in an Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) building at the time were evacuated.

Neither was injured. The cause of the fire is being investigated and any damage is being assessed, an AMRC spokesperson said.

The fire was extinguished by 10:30 GMT, just over an hour after SYFR had posted online advising people to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
