Woman in hospital twice for dog bite injuries
A woman needed hospital treatment twice after she was bitten by a dog.
It happened on the Leas, near to Trow Quarry car park in South Shields, at about 17:00 GMT on 1 December.
The dog, which police said was a tan-and-white bulldog-type breed, approached the woman and bit her leg.
The animal was wearing a black harness and had no lead, Northumbria Police added.
A man believed to be in his 50s was with the dog and left the area on foot, the force said.
The victim, aged in her 40s, suffered puncture wounds and needed hospital treatment for her injuries twice.
