'Seven-stage' Guernsey Rally given green light
Guernsey Rally 2025 has been given the green light by the States.
The event was originally cancelled after the States said it could not justify the administrative costs involved.
The traffic and highways services team said after "careful consideration" it had given permission for the seven-stage rally to take place.
The event will take place from Friday 28 February to Saturday 1 March - "mostly spread across the rural parishes", the team added.
The Rally Club is expected to publish stage details in mid-February.
The States said any properties and businesses adjoining the stage routes should receive final confirmation of the arrangements from the organisers "imminently".
Environmentalists and some residents have previously criticised plans for the car rally.
Event bosses and tourism leaders said the island would benefit financially from tourists visiting during an off-season period.
The first rally was organised in 2018 by Guernsey Rally president Karl Marshall and a group of volunteers, and consisted of 16 stages.
