Man charged with nine offences, including rape

A man has appeared in court after he was charged with nine offences, including rape and intentional strangulation.

Robert Szymske, 48, of Porter Street in Hull, was also charged with assault by beating, stalking, three counts of child neglect, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and perverting the course of public justice.

The reported incidents are said to have taken place in Hull between April and July.

He appeared at Hull Magistrates' Court on Thursday and was remanded into custody to appear at Hull Crown Court on 19 August.
