Pedestrian struck by car dies in hospital

A woman who was hit by a car in Blackburn has died in hospital, police have said.
The pedestrian, who was in her 60s, was struck by a Volkswagen CC GT on Pilmuir Road at about 13:30 BST on Tuesday, said Lancashire Police.
A spokesperson said the woman's loved ones had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers.
The driver stopped at the scene of the collision, said police.
Sgt Chris Hardacre, from the force's Roads Policing Unit, said: "First and foremost, my thoughts are with her loved ones at this very sad time.
"Enquiries into how the collision occurred are ongoing, and I am appealing to you, the public, for any information or footage you may have that could assist."
