Hospital worker accused of planning to murder child
A hospital worker has been accused of planning to murder, kidnap and rape a child.
Tracy Turner, 51, of Roath, Cardiff, an operating theatre assistant at University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, has pleaded not guilty to eight charges.
The charges include conspiring to rape a girl aged under 13, to sexually assault her by penetration, to sexually assault her by touching, to kidnap her, and to murder her as well as two counts of making indecent images of a child and one of perverting the course of justice.
A spokeswoman for Cardiff and Vale Health Board said it had suspended Ms Turner and is cooperating with police during its investigation.
Ms Turner has been charged jointly with 45-year-old Stuart Compton, from Cathays - who has also pleaded not guilty to the same conspiracy charges.
The charge of perverting the course of justice alleges that Ms Turner hid a mobile phone on 25 June 2024 "following the arrest of her partner" and she is alleged to have made indecent images in Categories B and C.
Both individuals appeared at Cardiff Crown Court earlier this month and are due to stand trial in May.
