Two women suffered serious injuries when four vehicles crashed in Devon, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said emergency services were called to Bridge Road in Exeter at about 16:25 GMT on Sunday.

Police said one woman, aged 80, suffered life-threatening injuries while another woman, also 80, suffered injuries considered to be "life-changing".

A police spokesperson added: "The injured women were travelling in separate vehicles."

The ambulance service, air ambulance and fire service all attended the scene where a road closure was put in place.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact the police.
