Man 'left shaken' after car hijacking outside hospital

A man has been threatened after a car was hijacked outside a hospital in Portadown.

The incident took place in the Lurgan Road area shortly before 06:00 GMT on Saturday.

A man got into the front passenger seat of the car and threatened the victim, who drove a short distance to an industrial estate in the Carn Road area.

The suspect took the keys and drove off, believed to be heading in the direction of the M12 and on to the M1.

Police said the the victim was physically unharmed, but "left shaken by the ordeal".

Police are appealing to anyone who sees the car, a silver Volkswagen Polo with the registration IGZ 3641, to contact them.

They are also appealing to any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
