Woman treated in hospital after being hit by car

A woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Leeds, according to West Yorkshire Police.

It happened on Station Road in Cross Gates, near Cross Gates Railway Station, at about 09:20 GMT on Monday.

The woman was taken to hospital with "serious injuries" and the driver of the car stopped at the scene, a force spokesperson added.

Station Road remained closed between the junctions with Station View and Knightsway on Monday afternoon.
