A man was left seriously injured after he was pushed down a flight of steep stairs at a North Yorkshire pub.

The assault happened at Hoggs 'n' Heifers in High Bentham at about 21:50 BST on 28 September, North Yorkshire Police said.

The force said the victim, aged in his 40s, was still receiving medical treatment for his injuries more than three months on from the attack at the venue on Main Street.

A man in his 20s was interviewed in connection with the incident but was later released under investigation.

Police appealed for anyone who was in the pub at the time and witnessed the assault to come forward.
