Busy Inverness road could have part-time 20mph limit

A part-time 20mph speed limit could be introduced on a section of Sir Walter Scott Drive - one of Inverness' busiest roads.
Highland Council is consulting on introducing the restriction during drop-off and pick-up times at Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis, a Gaelic school near the road.
The local authority said the parent council had raised concerns about the speeds of some vehicles passing the school.
The road, which is also known as the Southern Distributor Road, has a 40mph limit and it provides a link to various housing developments, retail parks and the busy Inshes Roundabout.
Highland Council said the proposed 20mph limit, first reported in the Inverness Courier, was for a short section of road, and it expected it would have "very little" impact on traffic flow.
The public consultation is running until 8 August.
