Jersey Post stamps celebrate year of the snake
A stamp featuring a golden snake to celebrate the Lunar New Year has been released.
Jersey Post said the artwork represented good fortune and wisdom and had been designed by Wang Huming, the chief art consultant at China Post.
It includes the snake alongside four types of flowers each representing the four seasons of the year.
The Year of the Snake will be the tenth year of Jersey Post commemorating the New Year.
The Lunar New Year, also known as China's Spring Festival, is one of the most celebrated points of the Chinese calendar.
Jersey Post said elements were also incorporated into each Chinese zodiac sign.
It said: "In 2025, the element will be wood, which is why the artist has chosen to incorporate the colours blue and green into the miniature sheet's artwork.
"To represent the continued cycle and life, the snake has been portrayed in the sign of the infinity symbol."
