Peter Ribbeck snapped this stunning image - a self-portrait of himself standing at the Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye. He said: "It felt a bit sketchy to stand this close to the edge for the 30-second exposure in the dark."

"If ever there was a case of; right place at the right time, this is it," said Alan Rankin of Carrbridge who spotted the aurora above Dalnahatnach.
