Reports of five arson attacks in three weeks has led to authorities patrolling a part of Hull.

The incidents involved bins and other objects being torched near entrances to properties on Holderness Road, Pelham Drive, Broadley Close and Rothesay Close between 7 December and 1 January, Humberside Police said.

Insp Jo Harvey said nobody was physically injured but residents were "left shaken" and their investigation continued with both police officers and the council patrolling the area.

The force has appealed for anyone with information including "CCTV or dashcam footage from between 03:00 to 05:00 GMT on New Year's Day in the vicinity of Southcoates Lane and Rothesay Close" to get in touch.
