A town is gearing up for its first-ever wellbeing festival.

The Swindon Wellbeing Festival will take place on 8 and 9 February at the Wiltshire town's STEAM Museum.

The event will include talks on stress relief and workshops on breathwork, dance flow meditation and a variety of mindful exercises.

Councillor Marina Strinkovsky, Swindon Borough Council's Cabinet Member for Placemaking and Planning, said: "The early months of the year are always good for some reflection and making positive health choices."

She added: "The Wellbeing Festival is sure to have something to interest everyone.

"I'm pleased to see this new event added to the museum's busy and diverse calendar."

Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to take part in sound bath workshops and mini-taster sessions of reflexology, reiki and beauty treatments.

Organisers say guest speakers will present talks on a range of topics such as changing your mindset to overcome self-destructive beliefs and how our language posture reflects who we are.
