Police were called to Furnival Avenue in Slough on Thursday

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in a residential street.

Thames Valley Police was called to Furnival Avenue in Slough, Berkshire, on Thursday where officers found the body of a 54-year-old man.

The force launched a murder investigation on Saturday and two men, aged 46 and 54 and both from Slough, were arrested and remain in custody.

Senior investigating officer Det Insp Stuart May said it was believed to be an isolated incident and asked anyone with information to come forward.

"I'd like to express my deepest condolences to the family of the man who sadly died," he said.

"I also understand the concern that this may cause within the community, but we believe this was an isolated incident in which the victim and suspects were known to each other.

"We do not believe there is a threat to the wider public.

"A scene will remain in place as we continue to carry out our enquiries and we thank the community in advance for their patience as our officers continue their work."
